Glenmar (Planet №71)
Glenmar is one of the mid-distance planets in the Tramnox spiral, located in the temperate climate zone of the croissant. Here you can experience both mild summers with lush green meadows and snowy winters when the narrow streets of towns are covered in a white blanket.
Historians of the universal language Lumknot claim that Glenmar became a crossroads for many cultures from different planets because several thousand years ago, the first stable rifts in the strings of temporal matter appeared here. Through these rifts came merchants, travelers, and wandering strangers from all corners of Tramnox. As a result, Glenmar turned into a marketplace world where you can find anything - from alien spices to musical instruments that only play under the light of Lum-Lom.
The locals are known for their adventurous spirit. Among Glenmar’s natives is Pigeon Polly, who left his home to travel across planets in search of friends and new stories.
However, Glenmar also has a darker side: in the planet’s depths lie ancient string knots, which, according to rumors, can shift entire cities into another dimension. Because of this, even locals only venture into certain areas with experienced guides.
🔴 Capital of Glenmar - Wobbleton
Wobbleton is a state built directly on one of the largest temporal string knots in the entire Tramnox system. From above, it looks like a giant spiral of streets converging toward the center, where the Knot Tower rises - an ancient building that, according to legend, was erected before the planet even had its name.
By day, Wobbleton's streets come alive: the air is filled with the smell of fresh pastries (including the legendary Glenmar kipferl), exotic drinks, and spices from other planets. In the central square, street music always plays - usually on instruments that can never be tuned the same way twice because of the strings’ influence.
At night, Wobbleton transforms into an entirely different world. Glowing streams of energy from the string knot flow through the streets as thin blue and purple ribbons, and in their light, you can catch glimpses of creatures that may not belong to this dimension at all.
Wobbleton is the heart of Glenmar’s trade, but also a place where one can easily get lost - not only in space, but in time. Here, you might meet someone who left your world yesterday, but has already lived ten years in Wobbleton .
Several notable locations lie in the area where the influence of the 7th string fracture is strong:
* Yesterday’s Tomorrow Street - home to a small 24/7 computer club, the Control Center for the trading card game.
* Falling Up Rock Street - directly opposite, where there’s a gas station, and where I (the game’s creator) love to grab coffee and donuts.
At the time of the game’s creation, the year is 4711.
🔴 Saltcliff
Saltcliff is a small state on the edge of Glenmar’s wide meadows, where the lines of temporal matter run deep underground, almost never affecting daily life. Here, everything moves slowly, and changes arrive decades late.
The main street - Broadline Street - stretches from the old railway station (now long turned into a museum) to the Lucky Kipferl diner, where the air smells of fresh pastries and strong coffee. Storefronts display faded Lumknot lettering, and along the roadside stand old gravicars with rounded shapes, as if taken straight from last century’s posters.
The people of Saltcliff know each other by name, and news here travels faster than trips to the capital. Every Sunday in the central square, the Kipferl Fair is held - a small market where you can buy everything from homemade pies to curious trinkets brought by traders from distant planets.
This is where Pigeon Polly grew up - surrounded by the smell of fresh rolls, the rustle of newspapers, and the chime of the shop’s doorbell. But like many young residents of Saltcliff , he dreamed of seeing the world beyond its quiet streets, and one day packed his things to set off for Wobbleton , the capital of Glenmar, in search of friends, adventure, and his own path.
