Sunpickle is a land where the sun beats down so generously that even vegetables seem to be born slightly pickled. Locals are proud of their cucumbers, lemons, and any other things that can be pickled, canned, or turned into an unusual sauce. In Sunpickle, even weddings are celebrated with a pickle parade: the streets are decorated with garlands of jars, and guests drink lemonade with a pickled wedge.
Traditional Food:
"Solar Pickle Soup – light sour soup with cucumbers and lemon.
Brined Lemonade – lemonade with a salty lemon wedge.
Garlic Sun Loaf – bread with garlic and herbs, baked in the sun in clay ovens."
Holidays:
August 19 - Pickle Parade - "The main street Pickle Parade Lane turns into a pickle parade: residents bring out huge jars of pickles, decorate them with ribbons and lights. Orchestras play ""pickle marches"" on pots and lids. In the finale, a ""Cucumber King"" and a ""Lemon Queen"" are chosen, who ride in a carriage shaped like a barrel. Tourists try hundreds of types of pickles: from garlic in a honey marinade to carrots with vanilla."
