Fizzleford is a town where the air is always full of hissing, crackling and sparkling. Every now and then you can hear someone putting a cauldron of experiments on the fire or opening a new bottle of soda. The locals love to invent: from strange mechanisms to drinks that fizz louder in your stomach than in the glass. The town is considered an "open-air laboratory" - workshops stand next to sweet shops, and you never know which one will explode first (in a good way). Fizzleford smells of caramel, burnt sugar, smoke and lemonade bubbles. Even the rain here seems to sparkle slightly, reflecting the lights of the lanterns.
Traditional Food:
"Sparkling Lemon Tonic – a fizzy lemon drink.
Popcorn Fizzle Cake – a sweet cake with popcorn and caramel.
Firecrust Sausages – spicy sausages that are grilled on coals during fairs."
Holidays:
February 7 - Popcorn Carnival - "In the winter, when it's cold, a giant cauldron is set up in the center of town where mountains of corn are blown up. The corn is given away for free, and children make popcorn towers and sculptures (with the help of Mapplewink syrup) Tradition: Throwing a handful of popcorn into the air ""for luck"" by the entire state at 5:00 p.m."
