Greetings, dear reader. My name is Polly, and I am a pigeon. Though, to be entirely precise, I am not quite an ordinary representative of my species. I suppose in our world, no one is surprised by a bird capable of holding a conversation over a cup of strong morning coffee or critically reviewing the latest literary releases with a look on her face, if, of course, a pigeon can be said to have a face. My life, much like the life of Wobbleland itself, is a sequence of small oddities that have become second nature. But if you do not mind the company of a feathered guide with a sharp beak and an even sharper eye for things, I shall be your guide. After all, who else is going to tell you about our island the way a bird would—one who is accustomed to seeing everything from the height of a ledge and knows a little more about city secrets than any self-respecting townsperson ought to?
